Zwiener Named To PartnerRe Board

July 10, 2009 (FinancialWire) — David Zwiener has been appointed to fill a vacancy on board of PartnerRe Ltd. (NYSE: PRE) effective July 7. Zweiner most recently served as chief financial officer at Wachovia Corp. (NYSE: WB).

Prior to Wachovia, Zwiener was managing director and co-head of the financial institutions group of the global private equity firm the Carlyle Group.

From 2000 to 2007 Zwiener was president and chief operating officer of the property and casualty operations at Hartford Financial Services Group (NYSE: HIG).

Zweiner also served as a member of Hartford's board.

Bermuda-based PartnerRe provides multi-line reinsurance to insurance companies. The company also offers capital markets products that include weather and credit protection to financial, industrial and service companies.
