July 7, 2010 (FinancialWire) (Go to http://www.financialwire.net/?s=ftrdnwswnd for all of today’s featured news.) — City National Bank, a California private and business bank and subsidiary of City National Corp. (NYSE: CYN), said that its branch at 100 Montgomery Street in San Francisco has received a U.S. Green Building Council award for sustainably designed and operated commercial interiors.

The LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) award for Commercial Interiors Silver for the one-year-old bank branch is a recognition of City National's commitment to sustainability and to creating a healthful environment for colleagues, according to Dale Clark, a corporate premises manager at City National Bank.

The Montgomery Street branch joins just two other bank branches in San Francisco that have thought to have achieved LEED certification, according to USGBC.

Factors that go into receiving an award for sustainability include:

* Furniture that is manufactured at a green plant

* Green cleaning, which uses environmentally friendly cleaning products, tools, etc.

* Recycled carpet
